Theres no sunset gold on the '11's? Thats too bad. Thats my favorite new color.

It will be at least 5 years before Im in a position to buy another car (new or used) so the 2011 doesnt really matter to me anyway. Besides the world will end in 2012, anyway lol

I don't know if this is just me or whatever but I really don't see the point in the new "5.0". To me the new smaller V6 putting out more power is more interesting. It's not even anything has changed cosmetically other than the cheaper emblem that can be purchased anywhere. I'd much rather get a used saleen or shelby. A lot less common and will probably perform better.

xoxomattyo, I agree with you. The V6 is going to be a big hit. I've posted this before but, why not put it up again? Most of these are NOT on 2005-2010s:

1) 305 Hp

2) 6 speed transmission manual or auto

3) Automatic transmission gets better fuel economy than manual

4) 10,000 mile oil change intervals

5) 31 mpg fuel economy on auto trans

6) Dual exhaust

7) Cold Air Induction

8) 7000 RPM redline

9) Electric Power Assist Steering

10) Optional 3.31 rear axle

11) Better aerodynamics

12) Better handling

13) Better front/rear lift balance

14) Limited slip that provides better handling in foul weather conditions

15) Speedometer reads 160 mph, tachometer reads 8000

16) Additional lightweight soundproofing eliminate more high frequency noises

17) new door seals and a rear wheel arch liner that reduce road noise

18) Performance package options

19) Blind side mirrors in the side view mirrors

20) MyKey system

21) Better structure of the vehicle to improve safety

22) Sunglasses clip on visors

23) Head rests on back seats

24) 19 inch wheel option

25) Slimmed down curb weight at less than 3500 lbs

I was at my dealer today and they were doing training on the 2011 superduty and had one in the parking lot. that thing has to have teh biggest Ford logo on the grill to ever roll the earth. they had a sweet cut down of the turbo in teh showroom the ford dude was using for training. Alas, trucks do nothing for me though i didn't even walk up to it.

I am now going on a rant.
Sorry to those I may offend but I need to vent.

You and a few others.
The point of the new 5.0 is to give the Mustang something the 2010 was lacking.
Power to challenge the Camaro SS.
Also it is a first of a kind motor for Ford.

Now there are some minor cosmetic changes for 2011.
Pony emblem blacked out on front grill. The 5.0 badges as you mentioned. The rear has a minor change to lower black piece that runs along the bottom of the car, can't remember the exact term for that piece. I also believe the exhaust tips are a little different. The Brembo brake package will get wheels only available on the 2011.

As far a buying a used Shelby of Saleen it is a used car.
Not new.
They maybe a lot less common that a 5.0 ,but the price is a little ridiculous for those cars for average people to afford, especially when they are new.

As for performance since no numbers have been released so how can you make any kind of informed statement about performance ?

Also I am getting a little tired when reading post on the 2011 5.0 then seeing a reply similar to " Would rather have a used Shelby or whatever than a 2011 5.0."
That's fine, buy what you like no one is twisting your arm to buy a 2011.
But if you are not going to contribute anything useful to the post why reply ?
Because most people don't really care.

Thank you for letting me vent.
I feel better now.

Mfbris,

What you may view as non constructive others may view as having added to the discussion. Some may not have considered the idea they could get a used gt500 or saleen for the cost of a 2011 mustang. So . . . You'll just have to live with the idea that some posts may be constructive AND not agree with you.

Fyi I just bought a 2006 supercharged saleen with 4k miles for less than what they retailed for. Used, yes. But hardly. As nice as the new mustang sounds I'd still prefer my car.

It's going to be a while before I'm in position to buy a car as well, so I just get to sit and drool at pictures of Mustangs As far as the whole end-of-the-world-in-2012 thing, anybody who believes that junk is going to feel like a real idiot come 2013.
