Bring back the LX

I could go for that. They are already accomplishing alot of that with the trackpack as well.

OP means LX 5.0. In the late 80's and early 90's there were GT 5.0's and LX 5.0's. Some preferred LX 5.0's because they were lighter and didn't have the GT body kit on it. They were slightly lighter. LX's were somewhat like stripped models compared to a GT.

It's called the "base" GT now.
The LX 5.0 from the late 80's was a body kit-less GT with more basic wheels and flatter seats.
Sure it was like 40-50 lbs lighter (and a bit more aerodynamic), but instead of the standard 3.08 axle the GT got, it came standard with a 2.73
So it was no faster, unless you got the 3.08 axle option. In which case it was about .1 second and 1 mph faster in the 1/4
You want that now, you simply order the base GT.
The base GT will weigh 30-40 lbs lighter than the GT Premium, and probably 100 lbs lighter than a fully loaded Premium GT with Brembos, Nav, Sirius, Shaker 1000, etc etc.
But with the skinnier 18" wheels and all season tires, you won't be able to put the power down as well and therefore have slower times anyway.
On a rolling run, you'd creep away from a loaded GT Premium though, as you'd be lighter, have less drag, less tire resistance on the road, etc.
