Just to clarify, that's $160 for all 4 sensors installed. This was tacked onto the final price of the wheel/tire combo.

Does anyone here know why you can't re-use the stems?

I read somewhere, I forget where, that the portion of the stem where the 10 sensors actualyl screw on almost always breaks on removal, which is why you need new ones. No idea if that is accurate though. FWIW, i ordered a full set of stems and sensors for the 10 from TASCO on ebay for $150, was liek $164 shipped. they are OEM ford parts, i was worried about crap knockoffs causing any issues. AND on another note, the instrucitons in teh box form ford say that after you do the on off proceedure to retrain the car for the snesors, you have to use the ford tool to get teh car to recognize each sensor. According to the instructions, the on/off ignition proceedure will not stop the yellow light of irritation on its own.

its the procedure to start the retrain on the sensors. it works like this according to the instructions:

ignition off, press and release brake pedal

cycle ignition between off and run three times ending in run

press and release brake pedal

turn ignition off

turn ignition between off and run three times ending in run again. the horn should sound once and tmps sensor should flash. cars with message center will say train LF tire and this is the point where you need toe activation tool 204-363 thingy.

presumably the $35 AM knock off does this part for you.
