2006 GT brake squeak/creak..
Hey guys. I've been chasing an annoying noise from my rear brakes for a while now and I'm out of ideas.
The noise is a squeak/creak coming from the passenger rear brake. Not a constant squeak but more like one squeak with each rotation. It sounds like a squeaky door hinge not a typical brake squeal. It is definitely something rotating as it is speed sensitive.
It happens mostly at low speeds but does occasionally happen on the highway. Applying light pressure to the brakes does not always cure it but firm pressure does.
So far I have replaced the rear rotors and pads with no luck. It did stop after each install but came back within a week. This is leading me to believe it is something working itself loose but I have no clue what it could be.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you check the pad thickness? As I have yet to disassemble my Mustang brakes, I don't know if Ford use the wear indicators on these cars. Sure sounds like it to me. Will make a squeaking noise w/o the brakes applied and go away when you apply the brakes.
Check for a little metal tab in one of the pads and see if it is touching the rotor. If so, replace the pads. If there is still life on the pads, you can bend it back a bit. Sometimes these things contact to rotor long before the pads are worn out.

It's not your pads and rotor. I had the same problem and I have new rotors and pads. It didn't start doing it until after I used my emergency brake. It must have still been stuck after I released the brake. I played around with it and now it's gone. Hopefully that's all it is for you. It was my rear passenger side wheel as well.

i think i actually got my noise fixed in my brakes today...i just aligned the pad up with the pison in the caliper. then i sat in down in the caliper as it was still aligned up...no noise so far...crossing my fingers
