all cars have issues, but i think its safe to say that a s197 is a bit more durable than just about any bimmer.

Perhaps, but I sure didn't have any complaints about my 97 M3. 13 years old when I sold it and it drove like new, even at 110k miles. I had no hesitations about putting the pedal to the ground. I hope I can say the same about my car in another 100k miles.

As much as I love my mustang, I would not want to race that 335. I've owned many BMW's and they are very, very nice cars. Their build quality is FAR superior to any American car I've ever driven. You want to talk about a really fast and extremely nimble car that I also would not want to race? Get behind the wheel of a BMW 135i.

the new 135is are quick, but they can be handled with an intake/tune and gears. the new e89 z4 with the n54 motor and dual clutch seven speed tranny is a beast though. It weighs a lot less than the 135i and the dual clutch tranny is amazing.

Both cars are sexy. I have a couple friends with bimmers. I was THIS close to buying one... (e36 M3) but picked up the mustang instead. My first friend has an E34 5.35. Second has an E36 3.18 and the other is an E34 5.40.
