I have 400 rwhp and 4.10, 1st gear is worthless, you are going to have 450-475 rwhp and your 1st will be even worse, with the gears i'm in the same boat as you are my installer has done them twice now and they still whine , he has also agreed to change them out again and when i told him i choose to go with the 3.73 he has agreed to do that .the way i look at it is he has to buy a new set of gears anyway, so why should it matter what gear ,besides his chances of whine go down with the 3.73 vrs the 4.10s. (the steeper the gear the more noise)

OP u dont understand who difficult traction will be after the whipple. I have freaking stock 331 gears and i cant even get traction in first or second at only 419rwhp. My rec. is go to 3.55 (maybe your stock gear) therefore you wont even have to buy a new set of gears.

I would consider 3:55's. When you've got enough power and torque from the engine, I prefer taller gears along with it. My C6 Z06 had more power than I could use and the gears allowed a very quick 60mph in first gear. I have 4:10's in my Mustang and don't like them. The constant shifting is getting old. For me the more horse power the lower gear works just fine. Watch this Veyron accelerate from the corner and quickly go out of sight without shifting. When you've got the power, you don't need the gear.

i am leaning on going with the 3.73. i am manual. i have the stock 3.55 but i want something alittle steeper gear. thanks for the replies thou!! we are looking to install the whipple soon and the gears on the 15th. if i do gears first i will have to baby it cause of the gear break-in period. Damn!!! like was said, if i do whipple first i can see how it runs with 4.10 BUT i would have had to order the ratio i want by then. DAMN AGAIN!!
