Default What set-up would you rather have?

I was wondering what everyone would rather have...A 2010 Gt with supercharger and all the goodies or 2011 GT with exhaust/tune/intake/headers?

I know its hard to know with out the 2011's be out yet, but do you think the 4.6l could still hang with 5.0 with those set-ups? Would the whp numbers be close?

depends on a lot of things, including what supercharger and how the 5.0 will respond to mods

I look at it this way, the hit you take trading in a 2010 for a 2011 will pretty much buy you a supercharger and you'll still have spent the same amount of money as you would have buying a stock 2011.

^^ I agree, and with the deals you can get on a 10 mustang you can super charge, tune, exhaust etc and still be thousands ahead of the game. Plus have a rarer mustang.

well I thought the same way, you defiantly wont be getting the deal on the 11 that you would with the 10 those deals are great, but in my case I picked up my Premium coupe pretty cheap 2k under invoice!! So im stoked, supposed to have her First week of May! But Those deals on the 4.6 make me drool from what I paid last June, and the Edelbrock E-Force looks so nice! It's all what you can get in a deal, both cars are going to be great especially when the 10's start getting boosted!!!

2010 4.6 car. you will save so much money...and be way ahead of the game in the HP department.

the 2011 5.0 motor is not going to be a boost friendly car. between the high compression...and the WEAK rods...you really will be limited to true bolt-ons. granted that will probably net you about 430 crank hp.

still, cannot wait to do the stroker 302 kit on my current motor. I've already got a plan to put that spiffy new 302/5.0 badge on my SHR cover

except we just found out a new whipple kit for the 5.0 will be coming out... 600hp... a car with over 400hp doesn't need to much boost to result a crap load of power

Current 4.6/5.4 have decent rods and a low compression ratio...are safe for about 10 psi. Anything more is a tickingvtime bomb. They see +100-150 Hp gains

5.0 has acknowledged weak rods and crazy high compression ratio. It might be safe for 6-8 psi. Might be.

I have a hard time believing anybody will safely squeeze +200 Hp out of that motor using boost...not unless they put new lower compression pistons and stronger rods
