Full Size Spare in 2010
#2
incidentally
I have the same question at hand, except that probably I can actually check it since I got a golf sized hole in my front right wheel this weekend.
Assuming that my V6 isn't that much different from the GT trunkwise, I'll try putting in the flat one in the spot of the spare and let you know.
Coincidentally, do you know a good place to get a full size spare?

I'm happy to report the standard factory wheel fit well within the radius of the whole made for the spare. Its width however made the trunkmat tilt like a pendulum due that it couldn't lie down flat.
I thought this might be a good idea, but unless it's a "full" replacement I don't see the point. Finding a narrower but same radius donut seems a bit half assed. Better than the current spare, but probably not worth the money. Besides keeping the car ligher would make more sense overall.
Beware that the rubber tires used on the spares are a different type than the regular ones. These donuts have a longer life spam than the "road tires" so unless you were planning on buying spare-type tires you might be threading in dangerous waters.
