I have a 2007 GT Vert, It did not come with the security package. Is this something I can buy (all the required oem parts) and add to my car? My 2005 stang had this and I tought it was nice to be able to leave the windows down and if someone stuck their hands in my car the alarm would go off.


If this is not practical then would an aftermarket system require me to carry a second fob?

You would probably be better off getting an after market unit. A good A/V installer can even make the system arm with the OEM keypad. Not saying the aftermarket one would be better quality but it would be cheaper and probably give you more options to play with.

If you buy a aftermarket alarm, you wont have to carry the Ford fob at all. Your aftermarket alarm will be able to do everything the Ford fob does. But, that is if you get the trunk release added to your alarm and that is usually extra when getting an aftermarket alarm.
