Going to the track tomorrow night for the first time ever!!!!
So im pretty pumped, Ive gotten my new axle and gears (3.73s) and also completely dialed in my suspension. So im ready for my first track appearance. Any tips or pointers? I have an auto, I am just leaving it in drive for this one even though i have a ratchet. I am not sure if I want to rev it at the line or not? I just have the stock converter, maybe I could try like 2000?

Don't do a burnout if you have stock tires.
Take your time when staging, even if you get nervous, be calm and just go nice and easy. After you do it once, you'll be pretty comfortable.
Turn TCS off for all your runs.
Those are all I can think of off the top of my head. Have a blast!

Yeup it is fun and like what was previously said take ur tcs off and u should also consider using the ratchet ur second time down the strip. Depending on ur tires ur launch probably wont be great. Thats what hp and track is all about. Hooking up. So if u dont have nitto's drag radial it will be tough to get hooked if u launch hard. But it is a thrill no matter what happens. Best of all u dont have to worry about getting pulled over

staging is when u heat up ur tires and get ready line up and watch the tree. I will say that if the tree has 3 green lights. U will want to start hitting the gas on the second green light b/c by the time the 3rd light comes on u will be on ur way. If u wait until the 3rd light u will lose a few tenths. Make sure ur car is straight before u go. So make sure u watch the tree and get ur timing before u actually race. Good luck

Revving higher didn't seem to help me; just get enough to be above idle, like 1000-1200 rpms. You'll just floor it at the light, so an auto is pretty easy. Keep it in D the whole way, let the tranny shift for you. You should still be in 4th by the time you get to the end.
For the first time, jsut get out there, figure out what you're supposed to do, and don't worry about being perfect and ask any questions you have. Just enjoy the experience; you'll be smiling, and going back!
