Thumbs up How To Buy a New 2011 Mustang GT Premium at Invoice.

OK boys and girls. I did the leg work on this car for 2 days. I battled 3 dealers against each other and one was willing to sell the car at invoice and even gave me a 400.00 discount credit of hidden dealer holdback money. Trust me, they still made plenty of money.
You can do the same thing, regardless of where you live.

I ordered this car April 2nd and will get my VIN number within 2 weeks or less.
Just stick to the prices I have posted and shop 2-3 dealers or call the sales managers and deal on the phone. It WILL happen for you. They all want to order this car.

Dont let them tell you some bull about how they only get a small allocation. Thats not true!
If you dont believe me - just stop by a Chevy dealer and count all his Camaro's sitting on the lot that are sooooo hot. They all used that bull about allocation as well. Its called slow production to dealers. Thousands of dealers all got a couple Camaro's at a time until production reached build speeds of 58 cars an hour.

Well, the Mustang has been running at speed for years now so the 2011 never missed a beat arriving at the assemble line.

Things you should know.

The prices shown here are real invoice prices. The MSRP is also listed here for comparison. The discount for invoice is around 13-14% on options.
Things that you arent aware of, are FDAF assessment. This is a form of holdback that gives the dealer more profit. The dealer willl tell you that it is an advertising cost. But you pay it. I negotiated it through three different dealers and one gave most of it up to me in my purchase. Thats the <400.00> credit I posted in the list of invoice prices. You must fight for this - they wont give it up easy. Its part of their greedy profit.

Ford right now - is offering another 500.00 on the ford.com website also for a 2011 GT. You have to build the car online and when you get to the final cost page, it is shown on the estimated price sheet when you are done. Dealers know about this now, so asking for it, will get it for you as well.

Here is some real help at pricing. (See below) Now go sell your current Stang on the bay. Just dont trade it in, unless you want to get thousands less for it than its truly worth. The dealer will just steal back all the money I saved you at invoice, if you trade it in.

Thanks for posting this information. I am going to be purchasing a GT 5.0 also but can't find on Ford's website the ability to build a 2011. How did you do that? Thanks, Conrad

wow, $35,405 out the door is over $6,000 more than my 09 GT was. man a grand for delivery and documents and walk away before I'd let them nickel and dime me for the full tank of gas, that's a slap in the face.

the 5.0's are gonna be priced retarded until the 12's are coming out, just like the dumb camaros. only way to actually get a good deal is to wait for a leftover or until the demand calms down. good luck with the ride though, it's gonna be fun

That's over $8K more than my 08 GT. And that's a heavily negotiated price? They can keep it. $35K for a Mustang GT..lol..

kinda my thoughts, at that point you get a used BMW 335i. intake, chip, and turbo back exhaust and you're at 400whp and high 11's in a luxury car

or, you could walk in and simply hand the Dealership your X-Plan pin and get all applicable rebates.

Your price is...okay. But very expensive. You are almost talking barely used GT500 money at this point. Hell, I drove my Special Edition Bullitt off the lot for $27,500 brand new and it had a sticker price of $34,500...invoice price of $31,500..granted I got more than $500 in hidden internet rebates...but damn. It's missing DVD/Nav/HID, but otherwise loaded.

I normally upgrade Mustangs to the latest and greatest model every few years...doesn't look like that will happen for a long time. I had a hard enough time justifying what I paid for my car. I cannot imagine paying almost $10k more for a 2012+ model

yeah for $35,000 or a little more you can get one of the used GT500's out there with under 5,000 miles.
