Splain the homemade wedge if you dont mind. How would it be easier to install without the spring compressor too? I am not the mechanic my friend is, sorry for my ignorance.

I do think its a bit silly to have to spend $250 on two tools I will use once!

I have a full welding shop at my disposal so cut some steel into a wedge shape, cut grooves in it and welded on a handle.

As far as the spring compressor goes, just unbolt the cam bearing caps very slowly and only do a half a turn at a time.

Thats cool. I will talk with my mechanic friend and find out what we can MacGuyver up! LOL
