How should key fob light signal work?
When I lock the doors on my 2006 Mustang (GT) with the key fob it doesn't blink the lights. When I unlock the doors with the key fob the lights don't blink. The horn will honk when I lock the doors. How should key fob light signal work?

I don't think that's how it's supposed to work. For mine, the lights blink when I lock the car, and the horn honks if I press the lock button twice. When I press unlock, no lights flash. I think on the newer models (09+ ?) the lights stay on when you unlock the car.

I don't know about the older models, but if you read the owners manual on an 08 it tells you how to set it so that the lights stay off or go on when you unlock the doors etc.
I suspect a quick read of your owner's manual might shed some light on the situation...

This is how the OP's should operate as well.
Adding, the interior light comes on only when you unlock the car.

As an FYI, the brake/parking lights will NOT blink if you try to lock the car but there is a "problem" (trunk unlatched, hood unlatched, one of the doors are unlatched). If you then double-tap the "lock" button, the horn will sound twice.

The headlights, park lamps, and side marker lamps should illuminate for 25 seconds when you unlock the door if you have the perimeter lighting feature enabled.
