Awesome thanks for the reply.

I'll prob order mine next month, and I'm gonna go with the 1 3/4" (they are cheaper then the 1 5/8" I saw??) ones with the catted H. I haven't decided on the coating though, I might go with the flat black jethot 2000. I'm just glad to hear it didn't take long to get them

And I certainly remember the discount code too, thanks again

When I installed the Kooks with catted X on my 2010 it pushed the muffler tips out too... Maybe .5" from stock. I took the car to a muffler shop and they cut .25" off the x pipe where it connects to the midpipes and used a pry bar to push the mufflers as far forward as possible while retightening the midpipe clamps. They still stick out a little too far, but I can live with it.

Unless you will be planning on pushing over 600+ rwhp, stay with the 1 5/8". You will not get as much power from the 1 3/4" that you will with the 1 5/8".

Thanks for the info Blair. I'll probably take mine up to the muffler shop and see what they say, at least until I decide on new mufflers.

I'd actually say that that would be the end goal, around 600ish. I just figured since they were $50 less why not. I do plan on going F/I in around a year or so, but wanted to get these now. If this is a huge issue let me know, i just heard that 1 3/4" was better for FI and i understand while being N/A now its not the best option but i can live with that.

Thanks

You would be fine with 1 3/4" headers. If they are cheaper get them. You wont lose power compared to 1 5/8" and if you go FI they will be better.
People think that isnt enough back pressure (or something) on a naturally aspirated car but it would be fine because you would have cats and a full exhaust.
My tips were fine after I installed the Kooks system by the way.
Kooks doesnt make a catted H-pipe (3") that mates with these 1 3/4" headers. Only a catted X-pipe which sounds very nice on my car. People tell me this exhaust sound absolutely wicked.
Even the guy in the LS-1 T/A I beat yesterday was digging my exhaust.

I have the 1 3/4" on my car now pre-FI and it does run fine. I really didn't feel much if any power difference after I installed them and got a tune update for them. Now hopefully in the next 2 weeks I'll be placing my order for my blower and that's when they will make the difference.

Kooks does make a 3" catted H pipe. Below is a picture of it against the stock mid-pipe. Maybe they didn't when you got yours since I was told that mine was part of their first run of them. The only thing is that it necks down at the back of it to mate up to your stock over-axel pipe.

Thanks for the info guys.

zkiller on maryland speeds site one of the options for the 1 3/4" header is a 3x2-1/2 H pipe, which i assume is what dysan is running.

OP, have any sound clips yet?
