Default Found these 4.6 Engines on ebay...... Considering the Swap

Hey guys I found both the engines on Ebay and they seem like really good deals. I have a 2010 V6 Auto currently. My suspension is completely redone and I already have an 8.8 rear axle. My question is what else would I need to swap these engines into my car? Anyone know about how much the cost of an engine swap and then whatever parts needed would cost?

You'll need a lot of prayer. You simply don't drop a 4.6 in place of a 4.0. There are PCM changes plus a host other instrumentation concerns. NOT a pretty project for the average wrench.

The picture in the top link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2006-...Q5fAccessories
looks like a 2 valve engine from a Crown Vic, Marquis or truck with the limited view of the valve covers. I would think you would want the 3 valve engine.

Honestly, it would be less headache, less $ and keep a warranty if you just trade your '10 V6 for a GT.
If you are stuck with your car, consider just putting a supercharger in it. It would be way simpler than swapping engines.

This is a recurrent question it seems.
With respect, I would say that if you have to ask this question you are absolutely in no position to even consider the swap.
The list of parts will stagger you.

If anybody was crazy enough, and had time enough, to do this, the ONLY reasonable way is to have a complete donor car to hand.

An easier, cheaper and safer way to do the conversion is to sell your 6'er and buy a GT - Period.

Quite a few guys on the Collective have done the swap. It's a lot of work, though.

i dont know how your local laws are in NJ as far as smog goes, but in CA (i know we are the most strict) a swapped motor cannot be older than the car, just something to look into before you do it.

I've often considered swapping an SRT10 Viper engine into my S197 GT...

basically speaking... you're going to need a donor 05-10 mustang gt that was totaled in a rear end accident, or one that rolled
