Default The stang is going up for sale, need help.

For reasons beyond my control, I am putting the mustang up for sale. Don't get to upset just yet, I graduate in December of this year and plan on snagging me a new 5.0 or a termi.

Here's what I have:

2006 Mustang GT 5 speed M/T
41,500 miles (original owner)
Satin Silver
Charcoal Leather
Shaker 1000
MyColor
Long Tubes
O/R H
Prothane MM's and Stage 8 locking hardware
Bama tuned and JLT intake
Flowmasters

The car recently had $1,200 worth of repair done to the drivers side rear quarter panel. I backed into a mailbox, other than that (which has now been repaired) the car has never been into an accident.

Kbb says the private party value of my car is $15,556 - $17,715. I understand what little I have of mods doesn't affect price, but is the recent repair work going to? I need to know what would be a fair price to ask for my car. Please keep in mind that prices of these cars vary from state to state, so base it off more of what kbb gave me as far as a price range. I was thinking taking no less than $16,000 but if I can get more I'd like to.

Thanks guys.

I would think you might have a shot at atleast 17-18 with the mileage on it... If your trading it in your looking at a lot less, but since you posted private party value I think youll get around 17... maybe a little more

I would say 17 as well, though the repair work is not going to help at all. IMO, sell the mods here on the forum first, you'll make a lot more doing that then trying to sell them with the car, and it will be even easier to sell as many people don't like buying a pre-modded car. I know a lot of dealers don't like them.

id say return it back to factory, sell the mods on here, make sure u clean it up and present it very well, and list it for 17-17.5 and it should be a fairly easy sell

Here's the deal, I won't get jack squat for the headers because they are the Boost Brothers ones. I didn't pay much to begin with for them. I have the stock manifolds/H pipe but they are behind a shed and have been open to the environment for the last 5-6 months, so no telling if they are good or not. It cost me $500 to get the headers on, I'm sure it will cost out of pocket to swap everything back to. I can't do it because I don't want to mess with it.

I would say put it up on e-bay with a reserve. You have a great car there and someone with a fair head would LOVE to have it.

I searched for 10 months two years ago on e-bay, cartraders, dealerships, everywhere and found some nice cars. I was even willing to travel to Florida from Western Canada. So, unless you are desperate, I would post it. You never know. You may just have the car someone is looking for.

BTW, I found my Mustang on e-bay, right here in my home city. :-)

If you have the receipts of the body work and it is from a reputable shop then I don't perceive the damage being a big deal. Good luck.

If you decide to leave the mods on, I would say a minumum of $17K. You can post your car on Craigslist.com as well and it's free! Craigslist is very popular and addicting!
Good luck!

Thanks for the info, guys. I have the receipt to the recent repair work. I just listed it today on craigslist. I may put it on ebay in a few days or so. Any clue of how much it costs if you sell a vehicle on ebay?

good luck...KBB is over-inflated by $1-2k on average from what vehicles actually sell. Don't be surprised if you get a bunch of $14-15k offers

In a month or 2 it's going to be a 5 yr old model...and we are all suffering from the 2010/2011 body style changout.

What does your Nada price say? That is a much more realistic reflection of what you can truly expect on the car. Also, I would yank everything off the car that is easily removeable and sell it here on the forums. Many people are scared of highly modded cars...and yours is right there on the verge IMO
