I picked up a set up ported heads with upgraded springs. So I can do whatever I want now... I will just keep the thumprs until they sell. They who knows...

I understand it's not the Saleen's fault. But I tend to see far more blown engine threads from Saleen sc's than other brands. It could just be like someone above stated, that Saleen is hugely popular for our cars and more people have them. But even the mildly tuned(conservative) tuned and pullied Saleens are still blowing?

If I have 5 different blowers, and all put out X amount of air to go to the motor, the only difference in power is the efficiency of the motor. (I.E. how much energy the supercharger will consume from the belt to produce the X amount of air.) That said, the efficiency from twin screw to twin screw isn't that much different. That is why you see some making more power on the same boost. HP gain per boost, the Saleen is about equal with most, so I go back to what I said before, you hear more about them because there are drastically more.

From the research I had done recently, it seems the Edlebrock is posting the biggest numbers from the lower boost levels. That would tell me that it is more efficient if it takes less boost to make the same power as another, therefor easier on your internals, but again were only talking like a 1 or 2 psi difference, and the same power level. Anyway you cut it, your flirting with the line when you start talking the range of 500 HP through that motor.

If you used nitrous to get your car to 500HP and it popped, would you say dam that nitrous? Not if you had the right tune, even then it would be your fault for asking a lot out of the motor. Its just like overclocking a chip, they run fast as hell, but there mean time between failure goes way up.

The Saleen SC is well worth the install. Go with a tuner who is conservative with ignition timing, not over 16-17 and A/F around 11.6 8lb custom tune should yield 425rwhp with conservative dynamics listed above. No boom boom. Erik
