Default How to remove adhesive left from removing stripes?

Last week I removed my stripes so I could replace them with a different color. Now, there is some adhesive left from the vinyl stripes......I bought some "Goo Gone" from Homedepot but didn't help much.

So, what's the best way to remove the adhesive left behind?

Thanks.

Goo gone actually works very well, you just have to let it sit.

Also try lift off (available at Lowe's).

3M makes this little wheel called the 3M eraser wheel specifically for that. You can get it on amazon for like $15, put it on a drill and it takes stuff right off. I've been trying to find one locally but can't.

There are cheaper ones than the 3M ones. Call a local body shop and ask where there is an autobody supply shop in your area. That's how I got mine local.

WD 40 and a soft 100 cotton cloth like you would use for waxing. Works WONDERS. I had COBRA in big letters on the bottoms of my doors (the guy had used the same letters you use for the rear bumper inserts and in white...yeah they had to come off) and I used a hair drier to help them come off and wiped the remaining crap off with a cloth and WD 40. Came right off.

Only problem with that eraser wheel is that it's VERY easy to burn the paint. I've used one, works great on old old decals/vinyls but I would never trust myself to use it on a new(er) or nicer car. I used it on my 87 Monte SS
