Hmm pics. Here are a few. Suspension is stock except for steeda LCA.

The 17x9 were tempting. Even more weight off. And a M&H 275/50/17 drag radial would've fit nicely. In the end I just wanted more width and didn't want to be limited to tires in the 17" range.

It's instant gratification Vs patience with a bigger pay off in the end.

What you have to ask yourself is, "One year from now, which choice, in retrospect, will have made me happier?"

Personally, I'd kick myself for not being patient and saving to get what I really want.

I'm 6'3" and about 230lbs. Any time I've had another 230 lb guy in the passengers seat, I assure you the car behaved slower than if it was only 23 equivalent HP less then when I'm driving alone.

My wife and daughter weigh about 235lbs together when we're driving, and again, the car behaves slower than only having 500 HP instead of 525.

The 10lbs per 1 HP might be a convenient Drag racing formula, but it doesn't hold up when you really have extra weight in your car as opposed to not. Losing 220lbs off your car with 74lbs of that being rotating mass of our heavy cars is worth a hell of a lot more than 23hp.

Any body(like me) who has driven a 05' Mustang that is N/A taken to 310rwhp(bolt ons) weighing 3260lbs(delivered at 3470) with much lighter DS, flywheel, wheels(18.5lbs) and tires(pilot sports) with 3:90 gears, would never say that dropping all that weight and rotating mass and changing gear ratio is only worth a few HP.

There is no comparison when it comes to the combo of usable HP and light weight pull and handling into and out of corners.

As someone with a powerful SC, I find it hard to believe so many people are so ignorant of the benefits of losing weight and rotating mass. HUGE difference. Erik

the problem is that unless you run the car at the track to see the differences in track times and MPH you're just going by "feel" and that's subjective at best. I'm not saying that you won't feel the weight of extra people, I do, but unless you run the car at the track with and without the weight you're just guessing.

and that's just a rule of thumb anyway, every car is different so it's not exact but I've found it to be very close on several different cars and weights.

me personally, i want a very strong power to weight ratio...my buddy's 01 z06 out ran a 03cobra pulling 460hp to the wheels and his vette wasnt supercharged...it was around 100ph weaker...it just weighed less...thats one of the biggest downfall's i've got with the 2010 and 2011 gt's they weigh alot more
