Default Magnaflow 15882 vs FRPP GTA

So...I'm sending back my Flowmaster American Thunder Classics. See my other thread about my complaints on them, but the major issue was DROOOOOONE!

I've come up with some criteria as to what I want in exhast:
1. A lower tone, more "rumble"
2. A small, but not huge volume increase over stock
3. NO DRONE (or very little)
4. Under $500

In looking on various sites, it seems my two best options are the Magnaflow 15882 and the FRPP GTA mufflers. I kinda like the look of the Magnaflows better but people seem to love the GTA's.

Anyway, anybody have some thoughts on these two sets or have other options to suggest based on the criteria above?

Thanks!!

Either one is fine. You may also want to look at JBAs. I had these on my car. Nice mellow tone at idle and cruising and really comes to life at WOT. Also, little to no drone at all.

Magnaflows do not drone. I've had them on 2 of the modular motors. A supercharged 5.4 3v and my old 4.6 2v.

They both have great mellow tones and I never heard any drone. The GT had the Magnapacks (very loud btw) and the truck had a traditional oval shaped muffler

I am in the same boat as you man. I know and trust Magnaflow 100%. I've paid for 2 of their catbacks and was completely satisfied. However, I've heard a few of the GTA's in person and....wow. They sound nice.

I find my Magnaflows a little lacking in the deepness dept.

On another thread, I've gotten good feedback on JBA's also.

I think it all depends on the setup, an axle back is a bit different then a midmuffler setup, which could change how much drone you get. Just an idea.
