Dyno and track results
A good day at the dyno. One car broke from a driveshaft issue but otherwise all went well.
Sactown dyno'd 487 rwhp with a Saleen and a stock motor @10-11 psi. 21 degrees of timing I believe. Maybe 20.
I dyno'd 475 rwhp @ 10psi with 17.5 degrees of timing. The car drives, shifts, idles and behaves like a stock S197. I could have had the tuner add 3-4 degrees and make 500+ but didn't since this is my daily driver tune. 500+ for going to town gets to be trouble. Yes I know the motor is built and it can handle it, but a safe 17 degrees in 100 plus temps this summer will keep my running and happy.
540 rwhp @15 psi, 16.5 degrees of timing. After I switched pullies we let the car cool a little bit, 15 minutes or so. We made a pull and it cranked out 510 rwtq and 540 rwhp. The car made power all the way to 6800. A test drive of the 15 psi tune damn near made me crap my pants. I should have a video link in a bit. I probably could have made another 30 rwhp with the 15 psi pulley. My temps were getting too hot and timing would be pulled. I have the stock heat exchanger and resevoir which are "adequate" for street use but not for racing. I need a larger resevoir I can ice and a better heat exchanger.
Went to the track and made runs on my new Nitto DRs that I use for DD. They are huge, 305/45/18 (off the topic really but these tires look f'ing awesome on my car, I will try and take a pick for posting later) and actually stickier than I thought they would be. Not to mention I still have the stock 3.55 gear ratio. I want 4.10's.
First pass was 11.9 something @ 120-122, don't know anything else because the paper ran out in the ticket booth.
Second pass 11.90 @ 120 something. 1.73 60' 7.6 1/8th mile.
3rd pass was 12.0 @ 120, 184 60", track was going away since most of the cars left had regular street tires. The rubber from those regular tires just ruins the track. For an experimentation I stayed in 3rd until 6800 then powershifted 4th, I got better times with the shorter shift to 4th.
I gave my really good ET Streets to Sactown. His first pass was 11.7@121. His 4.10s help him so much. 1.60 60'. It looked awesome.
So after I get the better HE and resevoir, 4.10s and put my real race tires on, I think anything else than an 11.0 pass would not be acceptable.

very nice! sounds like a fun day all around.
the dyno portion is nice because it reaffirms to us that
the engine is holding up after the build and if it can hold
up on the dyno, most likely it will get us to work or the
grocery store when needed. for me it's a confidance builder.
i'd like to see pics of the wheels and tires.

Since you mention the stock tranny
Mate of mine bought my 4r70w with full manual valve body and t-brake (we switched to a powerglide). With a new tune at about 20 lbs boost with his 2.6L KB, the first night with the 4r, he went from a previous best of 11.8 to 10.3 at 137 mph and that was launching off idle....no t-brake. He will be in the 9s launching with the t-brake and appropriate tires. Overnight poor guy went from full interior to needing a full cage....lol

I may skip the 4r70w and go striaght to a turbo400 with a brake. Just takes money I guess.

The 555R drag extremes which are supposed to be slightly different than their first generation drag radials. They hooked pretty and made a decent 60' for a 3.55 rear and a locker.
The back suspension is all done with better pieces minus the UCA.
