Yep I knew they're made by Kaenan. I just wanted a cowl hood with the least amount of rise in the cowl. The Steeda ultralite that I'm getting is fully open in the cowl area I believe. Your hood looks great by the way! What kind of stripes are you getting? Oh, and did you have your hood shipped to your home or the body shop? How much was the freight charge? I was going to get the Steeda ultralite hood from Lethal Performance but the freight to my home would be $220. Freight to a body shop would be $145. I thought it was typically $150 to your home. Hmmm...

The Cervini's is nice too but I prefer the lines and angle of the Steeda hood.

As a another data point, my Foose hood cost $750 top/bottom... but that also included reshooting my chin along with the cups on A47 mirrors. Then again, with the Foose being aluminum, it required very little prep work. Hopefully they can get the color to match pretty close so it will not require blending the fenders.

You could order the same hood from AM w/a discount with free shipping if its shipped to the shop. If its shipped to you house then it about $100 bucks. The shop shouldn't charge you for receiving the hood if they are painting.

If I were you I would double check to make sure the hood is fully open because I dont think it is. When my hood got to the shop it got there damaged. The shop owner made sure he had UPS acknowledge the damage. They did and covered the cost of the repair. I contacted AM regarding the damage. They actually refunded me that cost to repair the hood and went after UPS. I'm glad that I bought the hood from AM.

Thanks for the tip! I forgot about the discount code from AM. They don't have the Steeda ultralite but they have the Kaenan hood. I think I'm going to get the Kaenan hood so that way I'll save a lot of money. The Steeda would've been $819 shipped to my home. The Kaenan is only $578 with the discount and shipped to my home. What a deal! Thanks Loots!

I'll probably have the shop cut the extra hole in the cowl like yours.

No, but I should have, darn fog! Where in the bay area are you? Oh, get a good set of hood pins. Just to let you know that the hood was white in color when it got to the shop.

I think I'll order the squirter relocation kit with the hood although I don't recall ever using my windshield washer. The washer reservoir is still full since I bought the car new back in Sept '07. lol

I'm still deciding on what style of hood pins I want. I kind of like the captive style hood pins. Although I would prefer the WMS Stealth hood pins but I can't see paying $200 for them.

I'm in San Jose by the way.
