135 in 4th with the OD off wasn't fast enough.. so I engaged the final gear (OD on) for more rpm and ended up blowing the motor.

Spat a 3 inch hole on the lower left hand side of the block...

It's like a car wreck...I just can't look away from the carnage. damn

so your motor blew from contact with the valve? still not sure what caused this motor to blow

That's painful to look at. Good luck with the rebuild OP.

I'm guessing repeated contact with the valve cracked the stretched rod until it snapped and unleashed hell.

That's some carnage in there. Glad the dealership owned up, don't hear that story too often. Good luck with the build, you will have plenty of audience awaiting your every step!

On a side note: What's Pops putting on the 335i? My brother has one, fully modded (dual cone intake, Procede tune, upgraded intercooler, 3" downpipe, full catless exhaust, methanol injection). He's waiting to see what kind of turbo upgrades come out, if those aren't viable, probably will do a small (20-30) shot of nitrous.

My dad's 335 will have almost the exact setup as your brothers. He has the procede now along with h&r coil overs and a limited slip rear. The meth, intercooler and charge pipes/diverter valves are waiting to go in.

Aluminator and some gaskets ordered from Tousley Ford. So far they seem like great guys. Very helpful and friendly.

didnt realize it only had 6800 on it... dam. Wish you had some backround on the racer before you got it. Probably never broke it in, raced the hell out of it, then traded it in.
