I ordered the grommet today from Ford so we'll see how it fits on Wednesday when it comes in.

Installed the grommet today from Ford and it fit perfectly. Ford's part number is W651016S300 for any one who's wandering.

Ford sends them in a package of 4 but the dealer opened the package and sold me just one of them. The dealer was Huntersville Ford in North Carolina so they still have 3 in stock if your interested.

Does this tube restrict flow thus causing power loss?? If not why should it be removed?

if i had one i would remove it too.
it's like the PCV lines and the catalytic converters, my car runs better without them.

How do you cap off the hole in the factory CAI when you remove the hose? Does it use the same sized grommet as the firewall?

No it does not restrict any type of flow. It was designed so that you would hear the noise of the intake when you step on the gas. I personally did not want to hear it I would rather just listen to the exhaust and not the stupid intake air being sucked in. After installing it I can tell you it's alot quieter in the cab of the car and way more enjoyable now.

No you can not just cap it off. I just left the tube lying in the engine bay for now until I get a JLT intake since it does have this tube coming off of it.
