  3. Why aren't you changing your own oil?

x2. why pay someone to do such a simple task.

its like paying someone $30 to unzip your fly because you have to ****.

and why so early?

I take mines in cuz I got 4 freebies. but yeah I understang 3k miles but your early lol. I remember reading somewhere that you should wait 10k miles or 2-3 oil changes before going full synthetic and if your going full syn then buy the best(real syn) like Amsoil, redline or RP.

It isn't worth my time to change the oil. I'd rather pay the dealership $20 in labor than do it myself. It's much easier on a lift and unfortunately I don't own one

1st service at 800 miles as the full syn oil is 1 year old. Why do I take it in, because of my disabilities and I hope that is good enough. Take it in when you feel most comfortable.

Are you guys sticking with the 5w-20 that is recommended? I'm reading much about the debate between the 5w-20 that Ford recommends and going with 5w-30 for additional protection. Some have even claimed the 5w-30 decreased drivetrain noise, while others claim that anything but 5w-20 is a mistake because of the tight tolerances in this engine.

Split the difference. Put in 3 qts of 5W20 and 3 of 5W30.

I've heard both sides of the debate and since neither side has convinced me that one is better than the other, I'll stick with what the manufacturer specifies. As far as drivetrain noise, 5W30 will reduce internal drive BLOCK noise somewhat but that doesn't make it better. But if you're getting that much noise, something else is wrong.

Allegedly, the overhead cam noises, lifters, and what not are reduced by the 5w-30. Not saying I believe it, just wandering if anyone has personal experience with it.
