Last month I put in a set of ARH LT's and a catted Mid-X pipe. I had a set of Magnaflows as axle backs. Same problem, raspy as hell on acceleration. While I was under the car looking for a clunk, actually turned out to be the muffler hitting the frame, I noticed that both Magnaflows had a hole on the upper side of them. I did a temporary repair job and taped them up. The raspiness actually got worse.

After researching some more, I was told that LT's do not like mufflers, such as the magnaflows. I found some Ford Racing M-5230-5GT for $439 shipped. The raspiness is gone! Louder, and throatier, but no more rasp.

from what i understand, you need a more straight thru muffler with or/h or x pipes...stay away from the can style muffler

it usualy plays a zero sum game. If you go straight through in one place, you want bigger chambers in another... You got those hod rods going on in a week... Seriously, just wait. Keep us updated but dont change alot in the next week. Save your money for now, and re evaluate after your cams are done.
