Default Mustang GT issues

As I prep to buy a GT I was wondering what sort of issues are prevelant with this vehicle? Since I may purchase an 06, are there any issues particular to this year? What's the deal with the water leak issue?

Hey Miller, it's probably just easier to Google 2006 Mustang Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) and Wella, there's your list...

I have the TSB list. What I really meant was of those TSB's, how many of you guys are actually experienceing these issues or what are common complaints with 2006 GT owners. I am very concerned with the water leak as these always turn into a PITA and are hard to pinpoint.

The good news about the 06 is that it was made right before the weight was added to the car for the GT500 platform. My GT coupe premium package was delivered at 3486lbs, and when with some weight loss, 200 lbs or so, and you've can have a Saleen SCed car weighing 3400 or so @550HP 10lbs boost. Un matchable, and will eat the 2011 for lunch, along with al the other fat heavy pony cars. (Corvette excluded of course). Erik

Of the TSB's, the water leak, fuel pump and front end clunk are some the one's that are somewhat common issues.

Don't drive in the rain. The front end clunk is the front end links need to be tightened every 2 months. Erik

^^^and the upper strut mounts on some need to be replaced^^^
If it's the strut mounts you'll know. It will clunk if you drive over a penny.

Wait, You don't think you can beat a Vette at 3400 pounds with 550 RWHP?
I beat Z06 Vettes at the track with less horsepower than that.

eolson...on a serious note...what is the remedy for the water leak? I see you have a 2006 model. Do you have that issue?
