Default 2010 Mustang Debadge

Hi Everyone:

I'm new to the site and currently own a 2010 V6 Mustang, I have been wondering for a while now if it is possible to remove the obnoxious emblem on my decklid. It seems as if its either screwed in or adhesiv'd. Has anyone removed these? Any tips would be appreciated.

Its held on with double backed tape and there are some plastic tips that go into the trunk lid. So if you removed it there would be a couple holes that would be seen. You could get a decklid cover from CDC....

It's possible. It SUCKS to remove, though. Fair warning.

Why does it suck to remove? If I do stripes or get the decklid cover from cdc will it still have evident holes or anything?

More than likely you will have adhesive residue left on the paint after removal of the emblem. The best way is to take a length of fishing line and saw between the emblem and decklid. You might have better luck since it's a 2010 and hasn't been on that long. Do it on a warm day in the sun or warm it up with a hair dryer. Then after removal spray with WD40 or any adhesive remover and wipe till the residue is gone. No evidence of the holes left with the decklid cover, but the holes would appear beneath stripes.

The tape is much stronger than emblem tape. It's along the lines of spoiler tape.

If you get the decklid trim panel, it covers the mound.
