Default Cams & 4:10s?

I have a couple of questions about a couple of mods that I was considering doing. I spend most of my time driving around town in a lower gear, and I'm looking for lower fourth mile times, so I think 4:10 gears would be best for me. I know that you have to sacrifice top end for these. I was also thinking about getting 8.8in 31 Spline axles, LSD, and 1pc aluminum driveshaft for good N/A torque gains.

I also have a question about running FRPP Hot Rods or Brenspeed Detroit Rockers with 4:10s. I heard that lower gear is recommended for cams and, that having cams you sacrifice low-end torque for higher-end gains...

Anyone running both of these and enjoying them?

I was also thinking about running this kit with kooks longtubes.

Ill let you know in 3 weeks as im getting my detroit rockers installed on june 1st. I do have 410's so im totally pumped. Mine is an auto. But when i take a nice long road trip i still get over 23 with cai and 410's. Top end speed i guess is sacrificed a little but really who drives 120 all the time. Dont fear the gear is what i always heard. I love my 410s by the way.

so the reason people recommend 4.10s with cams is because of the low end power loss?

i really want these cams but i dont want to change from my stock 3.55s

I have 4.10s and Hot Rods with LTs. I just dyno'd the car the other day with a BamaChips tune. Made 336whp with 329 ft/lbs of tq and a VERY nice tq curve. Didn't lose much at ALL down low!

Don't fear the gears! 4.10s and cams are an awesome combo!!

Sounds like a great combo for some ferocious acceleration!.. though, yes, the top end will suffer greatly even with enough hp. That final gear is gonna be a LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOONNG as gear lol. I was surprised myself when I first got 4.10s (auto) and it would be something like 80mph all the way up to 140! Now THAT is one ridiculous long *** gear! Down low and off the line, it hauls ***.. first few gears are super short, just keep that in mind. I think 1-3rd are only 1000 rpm of one another with the auto...
