Default spark plugs...wtf??

So I did a search on here to find out which spark plugs i should get...I ended up getting the autolites for our car...

in my search though, i found all these threads about how hard it is to change them and the plugs snapping off and what not. I've heard of plugs breaking...it sucks, but whats the deal with changing them?? is it REALLY that difficult?? And this TSB everyone's talking about...where can I find that so I can read about all this "soaking the plugs after breaking em loose a 1/4 turn"

seems over kill but then again, i've seen Fords marvelous engineering...afterall, I own a 6.0 liter diesel lol

Here's Taco Bill's HowTo: https://mustangforums.com/forum/gt-s...ug-change.html

Here's the TSB: https://mustangforums.com/mustang-ts...V-6.8L-3V.html

I'm surprised the search feature didn't turn these up for you.

I broke 2 off last week. There's a TOOL that will help you get these out if they break, and let me tell you...the TOOL WORKS! But appearantly it doesn't work every time. I would imagine if you followed the suggestions from above, but locate someone that has the tool before you start, you'll probably be OK.

I bought the Lisie tool before I attempted to take the plugs out of my 05 a couple of months ago. Naturally since I spent $90 on the tool none of my had any issues, I guess the tool was like insurance, you never need it until you don't have it.

Good luck to you...

I would recommend seafoaming your engine before you pull the plugs. I pulled mine at 30K last week after seafoaming my car and running through one tank of seafoam in the fuel tank + fuel system cleaner. When I took out the plugs, none of them gave me any trouble and the carbon was dripping off of the spark plugs. I would also use Seafoam Deep Creep to spray down into the spark plug wells instead of carb cleaner or whatever they suggest. Also let the deep creep sit in the spark plug wells for 1-2 hours instead of the 15 minutes suggested and go slow and with some luck, you will be ok.

I doubt these plugs are for the 05-08 3V Mustang GT.

Here's another question. What about changing out these crappy HT0 plugs out of our cars. Has anyone bothered to do this or are we just stuck unless we take our heads off to have the work done (plug holes rethreaded).
