I would have a agreed price on paper before I put any deposit down. Are they willing to do that? probably not as the insentives will change. unless you can get them to agree to the no nonsense before all applicable incentives. Just make sure that is all documented that you have a price before current incentives.
I always get worried with a large up front deposit because then there holding yet another large chip to play against you once the car shows up.

Thanks, guys! I ordered a plain-Jane GT Deluxe with the 3.73 gears...quick and cheap, just how like my women. The car will be grey...which is not how I like my women though so that's where the metaphor falls apart.
Yep. Good advice there.
We agreed on the price first...and they assured me that of the three $750 offers that are out there, at least one of them would still be active at the time my car was delievered and that was part of the agreement. I also get the X-Plan discount and being a lingering college student (as in, it's taking me forever to finish while working full time!!), it looks like I might also be elligible for the $500 discount there too...but that would just be extra at this point. I'm satisfied with the price...and after my drive in the 5.0 (even with 3.31 gears)....I was grinning from ear to ear.
I'm psyched.. the 2009 GT has been amazing but the '11 just takes the cake.

I had a hard time picking the color... these cars look good in all of the available colors but at the same time, there was nothing like Competition Orange that I absolutely couldn't live without if it was offered.
The Sterling Grey is super sharp yet subtle...should go well with a variety of wheel finishes, etc. I think we did okay in picking that out.
