Default Headers and Laziness

I am thinking about an exhaust upgrade to my '05 GT that would consist of a pair of shorty headers and an "X" pipe.
I would like to know if there is a shorty header set-up out there, with the right choice of parts, that could be installed and forgotten. I have owned headers in the far past, that would require periodic repairs at the worst of times.
I feel that the header would have to be stainless steel. I understand that there are different grades of stainless steel which offer more or less corrosiveness (T409 vs. T304).
I understand that the T304 would generate less corrosiveness, but are costly.
Would an equal length set of T409 with a ceramic coating (1-5/8") achieve this goal? I'm not into chrome nor rust...discoloration is O.K. as long as protection is present.
I would contemplate a set of high quality header gaskets and the "E" clip style locking header bolts.
I would use a stainless steel "X" pipe from the same manufacturer as the headers.
Any suggestions regarding materials, combinations, manufacturers, etc would be appreciated as well as first-hand experiences positive or negative. I am not considering long tubes.
This upgrade is part two of approximately five upgrades I plan to do on my 'Stang. All of my upgrade must pass my test of reliability and forgetfulness.
Thanks for any suggestions.

I have BBK shorties. The guys at Fastlane Motorsports said that if they are installed right, they do not need tweaking or repairs for the life of the headers. They reused my metal gasket and just regular header bolts...non-locking.
