Hey guys i was curious to see if a Gt500 (05-09) would hit in my 4.6 mustang (05-09). A guy just wants to get rid of it because he crashed his car and says that it's too fast for him, so he's scared. Also would the GT500 tranny fit my 4.6?

The trans would work, but the blower would need some custom work and all the supporting parts. You would end up spending just as much getting it to work as just buying a kit designed for the GT that's all bolt on an ready to go.

Trans will work, don't forget to take the shifter assembly too and drive shaft. SirKnight is correct, buying a direct blower is a lot easier and cost effective.

Another idea. Take the parts off his hands, sell them yourself, and use that money for your own Blower.

Unethical? Eh, not really...I guess it's borderline, but if he's just going to give it away...

I'm sure there is someone in the market for a 5.4 Blower.

if you have both cars parked next to each other, the swap is extremely simple.


just slapping his blower onto your motor will be a PITA...and I haven't heard of anybody doing it. There just isn't that much demand for it.


now that 6 speed...hell yeah. grab it and use it...or resell. win/win either way

It's not that there isn't a demand for it. It's flat out because it wont fit. The time, effort, and expense of trying to make the GT500 blower work far outweigh simply buying a blower specifically made for the 4.6. If the idea of GT500 power appeals to you, get the whole package to install in your own car.

Tork Tech I heard is possibly coming out with a kit that will allow the use of the blower.

That would be pretty cool ... the GT500 blowers can be had for pretty cheap.
