Default Airaid CAI cleaning ??

I bought a used Airaid CAI several months ago. The guy I bought it from said he had about 600 miles on it. My question is how often do I need to clean it and how do I know when a cleaning is needed? Also will the K&N cleaning kit work with an Airaid CAI? And what is the difference between the two?

If it's an oiled filter the K&N kit will refresh it. I clean mine when it begins to look dirty. I had about 25,000 miles on mine when I cleaned it.

I cleaned my JLT every oil change with the K&N recharge kit. I liked to keep it red and new looking...

Depends on where you live. In AZ it is really dusty and I clean mine at least once a month.

+1 Airaid also sells their own cleaning kit as well.

Average cleaning frequency is roughly 15,000 -25,000 miles depending on your environment and **** factor.

K&N cleaning kit is a lot cheaper and does the same thing. ;-)

And the K&N is available at local auto parts stores. How do I know if the Airaid is an oiled filter or not?

It is, because Airaid Kit is the same......just cost more.
