Wheel widening doesnt allow you to run wider tires? WTF?

Why else would you widen a wheel? For looks? At some point, you may not be able to go wider on rubber without body modifications/fender rolling. When I swapped rims/tires on my M3, I had to roll the inner fenders to gain another 1/4" of room. But fender rolling isn't difficult or very time consuming given the proper tool.
You'll gain about a 1/4" on the fenders, that's about it.
You will hit the frame rails upon steering before you can have that tire flush with the fender edge after it's rolled.
Unless you go with skinnier tires or rims but then, the point is moot.

Our quarters are already rolled from the factory and our fenders don't have a huge edge like the previous Mustang...

You want to run bigger tires - instead of trying to widen the rim, focus on setting up your suspension to give you more room. There are lots of things you can do to your rear that will accommodate what you want to do. I run a 29x12.5 tire on my car.

Hahaha stretching a tire isnt all that safe but i started with the older VW crowd and quickly moved on to the asian tuning crowd. I think it can be pulled off on the right car but that car sure the hell aint a mustang.
