Default Should I reformat my new SCT tuner?

Hey guys I just bought an SCT X2 off a guy and it was unlocked and the the car and laptop see it fine. The only issue I have is that when I try to use LiveLink 3 it says it cannot completely read and access certain memory files and suspects it is because the files it is trying to acess are corrupted. I see LiveLoad has an option to Erase (reformat) the device.

All the connections are fine and the tuner is plugged into the laptop and car like the instructions say.

So should I do reformat to make the tuner a clean state or will I end up "bricking" my new tuner? Thanks in advanced

What about the tunes? or did it not have any on it? Reformat and you will loose them.

the tunes are useless for me anyway because they're not for my car. And I can reinstall the firmware if need be

Thanks for the input. I went ahead and reformatted it but it didn't solve the issue. I'll go ahead and contact SCT about it. It's really just keeping me from using the data logging feature
