Oh and the GT350 engine is EXACTLY the same as the GT. No forging, or partial forging. 100% the same.

Just ask SD on s197forums who has connections in Ford and Shelby.

If 7 psi boost is the recommended MAXIMUM why would Whipple then push the maximum and risk engine failures and bad reputations?
Why not give up a few ponies by making it 6.5 psi (or even 6 psi) max?

Not sure about you all, but if it's been tested that 7 psi is truly the MAX, I wouldn't buy any s/c kit that pushed 7 psi. I'd care about my engine and reliability a bit more than the extra boost.
Instead of 600 hp at 7 psi
I would purchase the 6 psi s/c that gave me 550 hp instead.

yeah, may not be the fastest then, but at least I could drive home if the s/c overboosted a bit or after 5k miles the engine decides 7 psi really is a bit too much.

Note to Whipple....offer a 6 psi version.

@SirKnight...if that is true, then just 1 less reason to purchase a GT350. overpriced and un-needed car that competes with a GT500.

a forged motor would be different...but a normal production 5.0 in that car is....stupid

that is the maximum they can recommend and still cover their behinds (relatively speaking)...time will tell if the 5.0 can hold even that much.

you see similar claims everywhere. especially in stuff that is weight/power related. take towing equipment. that stuff typically has a 5:1 safety ratio. so if it's rated for 2,000 lbs of dead weight, it actually has almost a 10,000 lbs break rating.
