Fishing from the drivers seat???

what really $ux is that you guys don't know when it's going to happen, your going to get in your car and there will be a lake waiting for you, I recently read that a group of people are going to file a group/class action lawsuit so if it goes through you will need to keep strong documents, take pictures etc. Good luck to all of you S197 folks.

The airbag module is in the center console below the radio behind the
climate control *****. I would be worried about the SJB that was in
the direct path of this leaking water. It might work OK now, but wait
until the white corrosion monster rears its ugly head and eveything
starts going haywire (SJB controls A LOT of electrical items).

Well, I went to pick it up today after having it "dried" all night and day. The passenger side was still soaked, so I left it for another day. Hopefully it will be ready tomorrow.
I was looking at picking up a '10 or '11 in 6-8 months, maybe my time schedule just got bumped up a bit.

it is a bit ridiculous ford is not acknowledging the problem until u have it. most warranties are probably up when this issue arises which is crap. anyone know what year this involves mustangs. i may just try to get it fixed without the problem being a apparent. but then if there is a class action and it goes through then that would suck... after everytime i wash my car i check it. But my luck will be when it rains and my car happens to be out of the garage.. rrrr

The carpet and felt pad need to be removed
completely from the water soaked area or
it will always retain moisture and rust will
be forthcomming soon enough.
You cant dry out carpet/pad in a day, heck, even a week,
without removing it.
Been there, done that...
Mold will be your new stinky friend very soon....
Be sure and report the water damage to CarFax for the next owner....

BlueOval - You can buy something at WalMart that will help with the odor and remove moisture from the carpet. It's a dehumidifier can made for boats (looks like air freshener) and to my surprise it removed all the moisture from the carpets where a leak allowed water to spill onto the floor in our 2004 Lincoln Town car. After sometime you will notice water has all collected inside the plastic canister. It's amazing, and I was shocked to say the least. Put it in your car and always keep the windows rolled up.
