Stick Shift on a Stang
As June 21st approaches, the day I get my car, I want to ask the forum a question. How many of you guys/gals had your first manual transmission car be a Mustang? And how hard/easy was it to learn?

The Stang is my 3rd car with a manual tranny out of more than 12 cars that I've owned. IMO, the clutch is a bit heavier than the previous 2 but still not bad at all. But the Stang isn't my DD so I'm sure that what I'm feeling is simply due to only driving it every other week or so.

Just got my car a couple weeks ago. It is 2010 GT. I knew how to drive stick already but had never owned a car in stick. It is an easy car to drive. Just take it slow and in a day or two you will be comfortable.
Some things I think helped when I learned/taught a friend.
when your coming out of first get used to the friction point. Most people when they first learn start to get the car rolling and yank their foot off the clutch. Take it slow first. then in a a day you will be able to come right out without burning the clutch at all.
also in a parking lot or side street get your car rolling and push-in the clutch, stop and do it again. Do it a couple times. That is how my motorcycle class I took taught us how to find the friction point on a bike. I feel like it would work for cars.
For first to second remember to pull your foot off slow and feather(just barely engaging) the clutch.
Remember when the shifter is in neutral just chilling it is right between third and fourth so to go from second to third. Push forward relax let the stick move itself then push it forward and you will hit third every time.
These are real basic for if you do not know anything. I recently taught one of my friends (in his car not mine haha) who knew NOTHING and these tips paid off.
Congratulations!
