do tires go bad?
#31
Dont know if you'd made up your mind or not but I thought I'd throw in .02.
First off, modern tired DO get flat spots...they can get it from sitting in one place too long while mounted on a car...or from locking the brakes with no ABS.
I've never heard of any modern tires getting dry rot. It usually happens to MUCH older tires.
I PERSONALLY switched my tires out with only about 1500 miles on them. Sold them for $200. They sat in my garage from Sep 2007 till a few months ago and were still in perfect condition. My family moved and had to get rid of the tires, didn't necessarily need the money, so I priced them to sell quick. This could be a similar situation.
I'd say buy them!!
