so i was just browsing around and i read an article about a 2011 5.0 crate engine that whenever it becomes available its like 6,999. I was thinking that would be cool to one day swap in my 05 instead of by a supercharger someday. First off I wanted to know if a crate engine would be like the same thing as whats in the actual 2011 or is there differences. Like does it get roughly the same mpg and it already said 412 hp. Also, I know most ppl think its lame when like a v6 guy puts cobra emblems on their car or stuff like that...well is that equally lame to like if i did a 5.0 swap and put a 5.0 emblem. I actually like the gt better and would keep it, I was just curious of opinions...I mean its not as bad as lamborghini doors on it.

IMO being that your car does not have the 2011 body style and if I were to see you I would probally think you're some kind of idiot (not knowing what you have under the hood). I'm kinda like you but beleive it or not my dream car is a 03 Cobra.. So, I just decided to get the bumper, so that I could at least look like a Cobra. A couple guys are wanting me to put the Cobra emblems and I'm telling you just like I told them NO!!!!!!!!! Why? Because its not a Cobra. Once I install the Vortech I will have Cobra like RWHP but I'm still not putting them on there..Just my two cents..

if i did a motor swap, i would put the 5.0 badges on. nothing wrong with that. someone putting cobra or GTCS badges on then thats different. but the badges are indicating the size of the motor.

I just put 302 badges on my car to reflect the 5.0 that its now in it. It's your car. Do with it whatever makes you smile the most.

It is not lame to put a 5.0 badge on a car that actually has a 5.0 engine.

It was lame of Ford to put 5.0 badges on cars that actually had 4.9 engines.

thanks for the opinions, just wanted ideas for now because im not too crazy about financing a whole new car and i like the 05-09 look better than the 10/11. Unless they come out with something amazing for the 2014 (considering a remodel) than I would rather just keep my car and update the engine or something like that. And to Soldier GT, ur car does look pretty badass. nice.

The Mustang era started with the 5.0? I think you're missing a few of the early years--when displacement was stated as cu. in.

when I swap in the brenspeed 5.0L bottom end I'm gonna put on the 5.0 badges. it's only posing if you don't actually have a 5.0 motor
