No mark up on the 5.0 huh...wrong!

Much ado over nothing. We marked up GT500's in '07 when they were on fire, and sold them as such. Now, we've got a '11 GT500 with the SVT package listed on eBay you can buy for $1,000 over invoice.
Can't blame a place for trying!
Although, on the Finance end, it's easier to finance them when they are marked down.

Don't get me wrong...that's the way the game is played. New kid on the block comes with a premium. Not mad at the dealers...mad at the peole that give out bad information, pretending like they have inside knowledge. Just wanted to reinforce the "Don't believe everything you read" montra
On a side note...could you drop me a link for that '11 GT500...that's the only car I would consider trading mine for...

NOTE: I'm not trading my GT500 in for a 5.0, just wanted to share this information. Like I posted at the top...I know people have gotten them with no mark up, some even below sticker.
It really urked me though when people were getting rude about their opinion that there would be no mark up, spreading incorrect information like it was law. This is the second dealership I've been at that had an ADM...

Maybe it has to do with the geography as far as the actual crisis goes...

Every car on maui has dealer markup. You just play the game and grind em down or ship it in from the mainland. I have shipped two in and saved thousands.

Anyone can buy 2011 GT for invoice right now - just find an X-Plan PIN number from a Ford employee. Heck, you could have ordered one several months ago with the X-Plan. If you encounter a dealer with ADM, you just go to a different dealership. I am not surprised that a few dealerships are trying it - there are suckers born everyday.
No need to get upset that a 2011 GT can outperform an '09 GT500 for less. You still have a more exclusive car with the Shelby name!

I thought he was referring to a used GT500.
:P
And actually it would depend on the 5.0's options and the brand of SC and cost of install.
Especially if you paid lets say 36-37k for a new 5.0, got yourself a Whipple, and paid for install.
Then you are looking at close to the same price with the GT500 having more potential.
Always depends on the buyers awareness I guess.

11 GT beating a 09 GT500...good luck with that one as you can buy as used GT500 for the cost of a new 11 GT
Additionally:
NEW 09 GT500 - $45,000
CAI, tune, pulley - $1099
TB/Lower Pulley - $1400
TOTALS - $47500 & 600+RWHP
(or just go whipple 2.9L $3400 and almost 700RWHP)
Seen new GTs going for $45,000 = discussion over
as low as $35,000
Supercharger - $6999 (600HP crank, which they don't offer yet)
= $42,000 & ~520 RWHP -----> GT500 wins
That pretty much maxes out the '11 GT power wise...and it doesn't even include that you're going to need bigger/sticker tires to even hook that much HP. The $35,000 GT doesn't include the 6 speed tranny or brembos that the GT500 comes stock. Now you need to rebuild the block, and once you do to get as much HP as the GT500 holds stock you're going to need a new tranny and clutch....
Sounds to me like getting GT500 performance from the '11 GT is going to cost WAY more...new or used
