I noticed my car had a hesitation/almost chug out when starting off from somewhere like a stop light. You have to make sure you rev up real good before takeoff. So, I filled up with some 93 octane and changed the tune to 91 and everything seems fine now. I don't remember the 87 tune doing this in the winter. Does anyone else notice this? I have a Ford Racing CAI.

My original brenspeed 93 octane tune gave me ping in the summer when going WOT. I used to run the 91 tune with 93 in the tank to fix it. You are probably getting detonation due to the hot intake air temps (my aeroforce gauge shows up to 110 degree intake temps when sitting in traffic with ambient ~90 degrees). Just keep running higher octane fuel for the summer or go into your 87 octane tune and back the timing off 2 degrees globally.

Stay away from the cheap gas, you really do get what you pay for. You have a Cali special GT, that bad baby needs the good stuff. Summer heat is a biotch.

I've been running ethanol free gas. It's been from off brand names. The 91 tune with 93 sure runs good.
