Default anyone else with a crazy tight hood latch?

So this has bugged me from the day i got my car..the hood latch is soo tight. I have to drop the hood from like half way up for it to close. I do not like pressing down on it do not want dents..its sooo tight is there a way to adjust this some or does it need a new spring. I feel like I am jumping from the top ropes closing it

Well you can adjust the rubber bump stops down a bit to make it easier to close.

i dont think the bumpstops really come into play..the amount of force it takes to get it past the latch is what slows it down so much that it wont close unless you really let it slam

yea it sucks..I tried to adjust the rubber stops..I gave them like a 1turn down..it closed a tad bit easier not much but then the hood sat to low..so they cant be lowered anymore

Subscribed. I have the exact same issue on mine, and with a Fiberglass hood, it's even more a PITA.

Pull off the rad cover, loosen the 3 or 4 bolts on the latch and move it up slightly and it should be good. Leave 2 of the bolts a little snug and tap the bottom of the latch up, with the 2 still snug it won't move too much. Tighten them down after adjustment and try it out. It it feel good tighten the other bolts back down. I won't take much horizontal movement to loosen it up.

On my 06 I believe there were only two, but this is how I adjusted mine. I have my latch set a little high, less latch effort, because I had to install "ricer" hood pins on my Cervini's hood and I didn't feel I needed more latch effort.
