Default Compressed air release sound with AC

I'm getting this sound when the AC is on and I only notice it after the car gets in motion. Every several seconds, I hear a sound which maybe lasts a quarter of a second which sounds like compressed air being released. It sounds similar to the sound of a balloon being filled with helium. Anyway, the sound sounds like it's coming from behind the dash, right in front of me. Does everyone else hear this? Is it normal? If it's not normal, what is the part that has the problem? The car I have is a 2005 v6 and it's brand new.
