I just recently test drove a V6 2011 as well, although I wasn't quite as impressed with it :\. I did have an auto to test drive, however when I hit the gas hard after waiting at a stop light to see how it responded, it seemed a little hesitant on the acceleration. I have to say I was coming from a Toyota Camry so maybe I just wasn't used to the pedal in the mustang and didn't give it enough gas, but it felt a little lacking

Unfortunately the test drive made me burn a hole in my wallet for a GT xD

I test drove a V6 too... it was fantastic. I ended up ordering the GT. I just can't resist the 5.0 engine.

Shouldn't that feel like a huge improvement? From a Camry to a 300+ HP vehicle?

The stock automatic is probably tuned for gas mileage, so I can't say I'm surprised. But, still.

Oh it should, and it certainly still was haha, it was just a bit less than I expected. I wasn't really blaming it on the car not having enough HP, I'm more so blaming it on the pedal feel between the cars. The mustangs pedals felt far more firm than the pedals on the Camry, so I think when I went to really give it the gas, I just didn't give it enough pressure.

I haven't driven Ford before so for me there's still somewhat of a learning curve, just to get used to the little things that change between car manufacturers. In any case though, even the V6 was still one hell of a car :)

so how does a 09 GT compare with a 11 v6? Are they about the same, quickness wise?

we've covered this. the 4.6 3v will be a little faster because if its better powerband and more torque.
