I've never cleaned a red leather interior(I detail on the side), but saddle soap works well to clean the leather without harming the finish. I try to avoid over the counter all in one type of leather cleaners, as I wouldn't want to harm anyone's pride & joy.

I've tried armor all, meguires, and lexol. I threw away the armor all and meguires after using the lexol. I love meguires stuff, but their leather care makes the car smell weird and the leather gets so glossy, it looks retarded. Go to advanceautoparts and get one squirt bottle of lexol leather cleaner and one of the lexol leather conditioner. I use this stuff on my leather seats, leather dash, couch, and leather shoes. It is 100000000000 times better than armorall or meguires, and makes the leather look new, not fake and greasy. I had a little red dye come off the first time i used the lexol, but ever since I used the lexol conditioner on it, I haven't seen any more red dye.

My name on here used to be iluvmycar... I was the one who had the problem a while back ago.

I will tell you this... Meguire's, lexol, all of them... they will ALL do this if you have the problem.
It is NOT the cleaners. The fault is with Ford and how they made the seats.
Most leather dyed seats have a protectant they use to seal the dye in.
I heard from many sources that Ford did not use it on our seats.
At least from 05-09 I believe.

I tried to have mine replaced under warranty and they would not to it.
First they told me it was not a warranty issue and was normal wear and tear... no matter the photos, etc. that I took.
After the car was OUT of warranty... they admitted something was not right... but then would not replace the seats because I was OUT of warranty... Go figure.

So... as of now I do NOT clean the seats with anything.
Even a wet towel can bring red up.
If I do it... I wipe it BARELY touching it with a wet towel.

When I condition or protect the seats I go over them as if I am touching a razor blade meaning VERY lightly.
I can usually get through it without any or little red being on the towel after this way.

As for the spots that are already faded....
I found some spray stuff at a paint store for leather and matched the color.
I used it on a perm marker that a kid took and got on the seat once.
It matched perfect.

I plan to do this same thing on the parts that are faded.

Again though... this is not a cleaning product problem.
It is with the seat leather itself.
It is a F-up by Ford.
