Brembo brakes and headers for 2011 Mustang
I will be ordering a new mustang and have evrything figured out except for the Brembo brake option. My plan is to use this car as a daily driver and racer on weekends. The plan includes WOT box, line lock, upper and lower control arms, rear end girdle,CAI,SCT tune(Lethal performance),Hurst shifter?,
Kooks long tubes with offroad H and new Cat back system,M/T radials and different rims. Since I don't like being told/stuck with the rims you have to get with the Brembo package. I am guessing the Brembo's are larger so one would have to be careful of after-market rims when purchasing.
I am also SHOCKED that an exhaust system should cost about $2800.00. That is just nuts. What happened to headers being made of steel and having them jet hot or HPC coated? Lastly has anyone seen a video clip of the new 5.0 on a car with open headers. I would really like to hear what it sounds like with Kooks,ARH or stainless works headers open. Thanks Guys.

No link just an average price based on prices from the major mustang performance parts places. ie Lethal performance,Stainless works,Kooks etc.
the tree major headers seem to be ARH,KOOKS and Stainless works. I like the Kooks the best because of the merge collector which has been proven to improve performance a lot. The headers alone seem to be about $950 add the mid pipe no cats the price goes up to $1500 and then add another $1150 for the stainless works 3" cat back and you are around $2600-$2800 with shipping. I have raced for 30+ years and I know you get what you pay for and I appreciate a quality product. I've just been away from the game awhile and it's like sticker shock. My dodge truck is just paid off and I plan to use that money now to purchase all the parts I mentioned and then get the mustang. That way I can have the cake and eat it too. It will just take a year longer to accomplish my goal. sorry about the long winded reply

that $1150 catback is where the cost is.
that is way too much.
i wouldnt skimp on quality either, but that catback is expensive. you could save some coin by getting something cheaper in that area. there are a lot of good axle backs out there.

The 5.0 has a nice mid length header design from the factory. Leave the stock headers on, and take the cats out. If you want to change the sound from there, then change the mufflers. Take the extra money you saved from not getting headers and spend it towards a dyno tune. With the dual overhead cams and variable valve timing on intake and exhaust, I'm sure a good tuner can make more power with the dyno tune than you would pick up switching headers.

Thanks for the great advice everyone. So the better plan would be to buy the Lethal Performance 3" off-road X pipe,a good tune and like everyone says spend the money else where (clutch, driveshaft) Again thanks to everyone who has given me input. My goal is to mirror what Lethal has done with there 2011 Mustang.
