you would need to know what wire it is going to the amp that is supposed to be the remote turn on. You would then need to disconect it from the amp, and measure it. If your getting around 5v on the switched power (what ford uses for some reason) then its from the radio, or in the wires. If its not, then there is something going on in the amp.

Thanks so much for the help. Just found out that the dealer will connect to diagnostic for $40. If I go this route, there is a chance to get at least some of it covered by warranty. Thanks again and will post when I find out what the problem is.
um, if by connect diagnostics, that is probbably just plugging in the OBD2 and throwing away $40 you will never see again.
haha Thanks , I will watch them . They assured me of pulling the head unit out and giving me a straight answer so I do not think they will try that trick .
Well , here is the update . Amps in the sub were fried . Dealer paid 60% , I paid 40% . Warrenty on new parts are 1 year or 12000 miles . Thanks for everybodys help .
