Default Tire shimmy Intermittant, really annoying!

Group,
My Stang just turned 10,000 miles and I started to get a shimmy from the tires. This is intermittant and really annoying. Over the weekend I switched back over to the OEM wheels and tires. It mostly went away but I still noticed it some. It feels like it is coming from the rear passenger side. I had the my FR500's and Nittos re- balanced then put back on but the shimmy comes and goes. On the way to work today about 1/2 mile from the house it started. It lasted about 2 tenths of a mile and went away. Then when I got on the highway it started again and lasted about 2 miles. Cruise control was on. It is really starting to **** me off! Any advice? I was thinking about getting the TPS & bands removed from the FR500's just to rule things out. I have an appt with the dealer next week but I know they are going to say it is the aftermarket wheels. Tire place asked if I had some sort of centering ring for the FR500's? Sounds like a bunch of BS to me.

Help!

As dumb as this sounds are you sure its not the road surface?

As I was driving to work today I was thinking the same thing. I notice it the same places in the drive each day. I wonder if they put the max air pressure in the tires and now I am feeling every bump in the road surface. I will check tire pressure when I get home tonight.

Higher tire pressure will make your tires more sensitive to road conditions obviously, so I'd check that and its probably just your road surface.

Checked the tire pressure 33.5 so not that. I jacked it up an spun the wheels and heard something. So I pulled the wheel and heard the TPS rattling around in the wheel. They are off to the tire shop a 4th time to get fixed. I am having them pull the TPS and straps out once and for all. No light appears when I have the OEM's on withou the TPS so off they go! Hopefully they will fix the problem.

Let us know how that works, I'm glad I don't have to deal with the TPS seems like nothing but a nuisance.

Finally got the car gone over at the dealer under warranty and had the TPS sensors and bands removed from the FR 500 wheels, Re-balanced and I got them put on last night. Conclusion: Finally have a smooth riding no shimmy mustang. At least so far. The last time I had the tires re-balanced it lasted just a couple of days. I hope for a bit longer now!
